Dancing With A Wave
Today I went to the ocean.
Into the waves I whispered, "Parley"
Meeting it’s harmonic motion.
A minor wave rolled my way
Peacefully, I entered to play.
Deceived was I, for it was strong.
With forceful arms it engulfed me.
Like dirty clothes it washed me clean
As we danced inside the machine.
Not ‘til it ceased was I free…
Free to stand upon my weak knees,
Gasp for air, then return to the sea.
De Jackson is hosting dVerse and has asked us to write laundry poems. When I saw this prompt I was reminded of a poem I had written years ago and have never shared with anyone. So I thought I would share it now. I hope you enjoy it.

Heather, this is lovely. I adore the sea, and do feel washed clean just by standing next to it.
