Send Your Shoes Flying High

Run, laugh
Rejoice in the rain
Let it fall upon you
Feel your skin awaken for you're
Alive
Relax
Into the night,
Take in the sweet scent
Of honeysuckle - wish upon
A star
Without
Hesitation
Send your shoes flying high
Let the lush blades of grass tickle
Your toes
Observe
Goodwill unfold
In moments of silence,
Embrace the small details of life -
Love's warmth
Seek out
The happiness
That lingers within reach -
For hidden beauty in plain sight,
Give thanks
Run, laugh
Into the night
Send your shoes flying high
Embrace the small details of life -
Give thanks

I had the opportunity to walk in the rain today with my camera in hand. Here’s a little peek into my spring garden, where the peonies were bowing to the earth. The roses were sparkling, despite the gray sky, from their growing collection of jewels. Spent are the iris blooms, yet their long, lean leaves gleamed as raindrops slipped down to the roots. Meanwhile LeBron the Lion and our angel soaked it all in darkening with the mood of the sky. Yet, I do not share in this feeling, for I’m happy to be in the mist attempting to capture the details of God’s beautiful world in my minuscule yard.
Henry van Dyke gives us a pleasant reminder to be thankful for the little things in our everyday lives. In doing so, beautiful things will blossom.
Be grateful for the tiny details of your life and make room for unexpected and beautiful blessings.
Henry van Dyke

Sunny skies will return once more.
I have written this poem, Send Your Shoes Flying High, to share with Tanka Tuesday. This being the first week of the month, it is the author’s choice of theme and syllabic poetry form. For which, I have chosen the Garland Cinquain form. All six stanzas contain the syllable count 2-4-6-8-2. The final stanza is unique as it is a combination of lines from the previous stanzas. L1S1 (Line 1 from Stanza 1), L2S2, L3S3, L4S4, L5S5.
I am also sharing my post with:

Thank you for stopping by! Take notice of those small details and have a wonderful day!
With a grateful heart,
Heather

Refreshing poem, the words make one feel close to the nature and the clicks are awesome.
